The Logic of Luck

Years later, I moved to New York to study photography and later applied for a Master’s in an interdisciplinary arts program.

I began to wonder why some people are able to find what others overlook — a stone with a hole through it, a piece of amber, or a four-leaf clover.

I wanted to demystify the idea of “finding luck.”
My research led me to the Dutch White Clover, a species known for producing the rare mutation that gives rise to a fourth leaf.
No one knows exactly why it happens. And that unexplainable detail — the mystery that persists despite logic — still feels magical to me.

Statistically, one four-leaf clover appears for every 10,000 three-leaf ones.
To truly grasp those odds, I decided to grow my own.
